HAUTE COUTURE EMBROIDERY COURSE

Intermediate course in specialised haute couture techniques for learning to embroider by hand using the Lunéville method, delivered by expert embroiderer Elisabeth Roulleau Gasbarre. The course is designed as a continuation of the Level 1 (introductory) course.

This intermediate-level course offers further instruction in specialist haute couture hand-embroidery techniques using the Lunéville method. It is designed to consolidate the knowledge acquired in the Level 1 introductory course and to broaden the participants’ skills by introducing new techniques and/or more complex stitches, practised on an opaque silk fabric. Emphasis will be placed on the use of materials and threads that add volume and texture, such as felt and chenille thread. Completion of the museum’s Level 1 course in haute couture embroidery techniques is mandatory.
