INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY 2026
To mark International Museum Day, on 17 May the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum will offer free admission to all visitors, thereby celebrating this occasion dedicated to bringing culture and heritage closer to the community.
Under this year’s theme, “Museums uniting a divided world”, the museum is also organising a special activity: visitors will be able to help create a structure symbolising unity and dialogue between people. Each participant will contribute a piece of fabric to a collective tapestry, on which they can write their opinions, reflections or wishes regarding the building of a more connected and supportive world.
The installation will be built in real time, transforming visitors’ ideas and emotions into a living tapestry of thoughts and experiences. In this way, the diversity of voices becomes an artistic and community-driven act, where each contribution adds to the creation of a collective installation that celebrates collaboration and shared creativity.
