Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the highest governing body of the Cristóbal Balenciaga Foundation. 

 EX OFFICIO TRUSTEES

MINISTRY OF CULTURE represented by:

•    Mr. Denis Itxaso Gonzalez, in his capacity as Goverment Delegate.
•    Ms. Mercedes Roldán Sánchez, in her capacity as Deputy Director-General of State Museums.

BASQUE GOVERNMENT represented by:

•    Mr. Bingen Zupiria Gorostidi, in his capacity as Minister of Culture with the Basque Government.
•    Mr. Andoni Iturbe Amorebietai, in his capacity as Vice-Minister of Culture with the Basque Government.

PROVINCIAL COUNCIL OF GIPUZKOA represented by:

•    Mr. Harkaitz Millán Etxezarreta, in his capacity as Minister of Culture, Cooperation, Youth and Sport.
•    Ms. Maite Barruetabeña Zenekorta, in her capacity as Director-General of Public Function.  

GETARIA TOWN COUNCIL represented by:

•    Mr. Haritz Alberdi, in his capacity as the Mayor of Getaria.

The Foundation’s Board of Trustees has an Executive Committee presided over by Mr. Harkaitz Millán Etxezarreta, in his capacity as Minister of Culture, Cooperation, Youth and Sport.


The Foundation also has the following HONORARY APPOINTMENTS:

•    Honorary Presidents of the Foundation: Their Royal Highnesses the King and Queen of Spain.
•    Founding Chairman of the Foundation: Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy.

The members of the Cristóbal Balenciaga Foundation’s Board of Trustees do not receive remuneration for their appointments.
