This design reimagines abstract technique through a personal lens, using the Fibonacci spiral—derived from the golden rectangle—as its geometric foundation. While the spiral provides a mathematically perfect base, the student introduces “Nyokittos” as the central technique, symbolising the duality of Apollo and Dionysus: Apollo embodied in closed, concealed forms, and Dionysus in open, expansive gestures. The result is a harmonious collision of order and chaos, precision and passion.
The final garment manifests as a three-dimensional, shell-like structure that coils around the body in multiple directions. It reveals the side of the torso as it spirals over the shoulder and cascades down the legs, each trail culminating in a smaller swirl that curls inward—echoing the organic center of a shell. Black outlines trace the contours of the design, contrasting against neutral fabrics to emphasise movement and dimensionality. These swirling patterns extend across the entire dress, front to back, creating a continuous rhythm that mirrors the spiral’s infinite flow.
