This design celebrates the world of birds, focusing on their intricate courtship dances that transform their shapes and unveil their beauty. Mirroring the transformation of the birds, the dress can be worn two ways, as the metal zippers at the sides open to reveal a new silhouette, allowing the wearer to fluidly transform and express their intentions in each moment.
The resulting silhouette is an oval structure that wraps around the wearer's body. This shape is achieved through the use of corset mesh that is placed between the layers of wool and silk, handcrafted to prevent breaks in the rounded and smooth areas. When opened, the dress becomes short at the front and has a balloon train at the back. Hidden button pockets allow the dress to transition from the grey-silver mikado silk to the tailored wool ensemble at the hip.
