By blending traditional techniques such as moulage with digital platforms like Clo3D and Blender, the student engages in a precise and immersive exploration of volume, materiality, and color. The final look features a voluminous dress paired with a structured, transparent jacket. The jacket acts as a lens, revealing the contours of the dress beneath and creating a striking interplay between opacity and translucence.
At the heart of the design is a double-layered construction: an inner dress tailored for comfort and fit, and an outer shell crafted from thick interfacing to achieve a bold, architectural stiffness. This duality allows the trapezoidal front silhouette to maintain its form while remaining wearable. Minimal fabric pieces are used intentionally to amplify visual impact, resulting in dramatic ruffles that cascade across the garment. These design choices echo Balenciaga’s signature tension between simplicity and grandeur, with garments conceived as wearable sculptures—art in motion.
