The garment is a hand painted jumpsuit, with every pin, button, sequin and applique handcrafted also (applique hand painted with acrylics on cotton canvas, with coloured pencil details, layered with cotton and acrylic yarn hand embroidery -fringing and French knots-). The top of the jumpsuit is very voluminous and can be placed from various points on the body -shoulders or head- in such a way that it alters its appearance.

Alien bodies

“Balenciaga's innovative approach to tailoring is what appealed to me, because from my perspective, the shapes he created looked like they were tailored to alien bodies, in the way that they could both exaggerate, hide, and distort the human forms underneath. I developed this into the idea of an alien disguise because I wanted to emphasise that feeling of having no choice but to be somewhere where you don't feel you belong”.
