Introduction to Moulage techniques
The masterclass will introduce participants to Moulage techniques for the creation of garments
The theoretical content of the masterclass consists of an introduction to the moulage technique for creating models and making patterns; their practical development will have the purpose of executing the specific methods involved in said processes. In order to obtain practical knowledge in these techniques, you will produce a design from start to finish of its process.
Instructors: Miguel Elola Recondo and Miguel Elola Zaragüeta
Miguel Elola Recondo, a couturier from San Sebastián, disciple of Cristóbal Balenciaga and collaborator with the big names of fashion like Pedro Rodríguez will give the masterclass together with his son and right-hand man, Miguel Elola Zaragüeta.
Miguel Elola Recondo has a long background as a couturier. After more than thirteen years as a designer with the furrier Balcázar, he opened his atelier in the old town of Barcelona, making all kinds of Haute Couture garments.
Miguel Elola Zaragüeta, for his part, inherited the influence of Cristóbal Balenciaga and Pedro Rodríguez thanks to his father. He joined the family workshop as an apprentice at the age of 16 and continues to work there today. He studied fashion and pattern design at the Guerrero y Felicidad Duce school, and completed his training with companies including Antonio Miró and Santa Eulalia, going on to freelance with Skin Selección, Infocsa, etc.
Both dedicated to teaching, they give classes on moulage, pattern-design and Haute Couture at different schools, and particularly at the Instituto Superior de Diseño y Moda Felicidad Duce.
Participants: Students or people holding qualifications in Fashion Design, Pattern Design and Dressmaking, fashion professionals and all those interested in learning or improving their knowledge with Haute Couture techniques.
Requirements: Participants must have and be able to prove that they have average knowledge of sewing techniques.
Dates: From November 1 to 3, 2019 (total 20 hours).
Registration: Registration will be open from the day this masterclass is announced until (and including) September 26. Those wishing to participate must complete the online registration form. Candidates are required to submit a motivation letter stating why they want to participate in the activity, their connection to its content, and a curriculum vitae specifying their training and experience in the world of fashion.
Number of participants: The maximum number of participants will be 20 people. The participants will be selected based on the requested documentation and the assignation of places will be communicated from october 7.
Language: The masterclass will be given in Spanish.
