"My project A funeral dress for the funeral of our burning world explores a dystopian future of our planet. Roaring fires are causing mass destruction, while we mourn over our world that has been lost. My garment is a mourning gown which has been evolved from Cristóbal Balenciaga’s tulip dress".

Two pieces

The design is separate into two pieces. The red layer, made of a wool felt, symbolises the flames wrapping and engulfing the body. While the black protective tulip shape is the funeral gown (this material was used to protect from bomb shrapnel but now used for luggage as protection).
