This design draws inspiration from the grandeur of Gothic architecture, where sacred geometry becomes a canvas for the union of artistry and spirituality. The print of the dress uses the patterns of stained-glass windows and the structural motifs of Gothic cathedrals. Similarly, the angular lines echo the precision of architectural forms, creating a dialogue of balance and symmetry—an homage to both Balenciaga’s artistry and the timeless elegance of Gothic design.
Constructed from printed polyester heavy crepe combined with bouclé, wool, and denim, the interplay of textures enriches the layered composition of the design. At its core lies a simple long-sleeve, knee-length dress. From the shoulders, arms, and waist, pointed angular structures emerge, reshaping the silhouette into a bold architectural form. These additions reinforce the garment’s architectural language, transforming the body into a living edifice. The result is a piece that carries a sense of rigidity and monumentality—a wearable Gothic construction.
